Disc golf courses can make use of land unsuitable for other sports and activities. This is the main reason that separates disc golf from other outdoor sports in terms of requirements for surroundings and equipment. 2-5 hectares – Mostly beginner course with 9-12 targets, no big tournaments 

5-8 hectares – Amateur course with 12-18 targets, there are possibilities to host some tournaments

10-20+ hectares – Professional course with 18-27+ targets, tournament course
